Requirements for Conducting Islamic Marriage at ICLT
The couples must fulfill all the following requirements:
Complete Personal Information Forms
Both the bride and groom must complete all required personal information forms.
Obtain Marriage Permit/License
Valid marriage license from local county, another U.S. state, or foreign country.
Agree Upon Dowry Amount
The sadaq/mahr (dowry) amount must be agreed upon in advance.
Appoint a Wali (Guardian)
A wali (guardian/representative) for the bride must be present during the ceremony.
Select Two Male Muslim Witnesses
Two male Muslim witnesses must be present during the marriage ceremony.
Next Step: Once these requirements are fulfilled, the couple may choose a date to meet with the Imam to officiate the Nikah. ICLT Imam will conduct the marriage ceremony in accordance with the teachings of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah.
Where to Obtain a Marriage License/Permit
You can apply for a marriage license/permit at any Marriage License Bureau or County in the U.S.
